Here we are in the last month winding up all of our courses.  Where did the time go… can you believe your child is almost in grade 6?! It’s  been a pleasure teaching the first and only group of Grade 5’s at Lakeshore School.  This month is filled with some exciting events as we finish the year off. The grade 5 team wishes you a great summer ahead!

We are well into our photography residency with Lindsay Nichols and are enjoying taking photographs and learning different techniques.  This residency will continue for 3 more lessons, into the month of May. Bring on the Madness - March Update

February completed many different projects and are looking forward to March - HELLOOOOOO MARCH MADNESS (if you know, you know).  Anyways… We spent some time on Pink Shirt Day creating origami hearts with buddy classes and writing kindness pledges. March also marks our official school opening.  We are gearing up for parent teacher conferences and a much deserved Spring Break.

We have had some fun times wrapping up different units in January and are looking forward to some invigorating new projects and activities in February. This last week, there was an amazing assembly where we were introduced to our elder - Grandma Faye HeavyShield and her daughter Hali HeavyShield.

A reminder to please pay school fees either online on PowerSchool or in person at the office.  If you can also please ensure you have paid for your child’s car kit in order for them to receive their own car to build for our electricity unit. Without payment, your child will not receive a car to build. We are also asking if you can please pay for our Telus Spark trip which is in February.  This will help us determine if the trip is a go ahead or...

Happy Festivus - December Update

November was a fun filled month with many things on the go!  Students loved their traditional Indian food experience and we had our first assembly at Lakeshore School on Remembrance Day, which was beautiful and thoughtful. Our clubs are up and running, students are buzzing around the school. Thank you to all the parents who came out during parent teacher interviews, it was a pleasure to meet you all. Thank you also for all your generosity for our seniors. The outcome was incredible! We will also be saying goodbye to our student teachers as they go back to university for their final semester.
