It’s PLAYOFF time! The Flames are top dogs and it’s going to be an awesome April. The C of Red is rising and I couldn’t be more excited. Between that how awesome the school year has been I’d have to say that this are very thumbs up right now (we just need the Blue Jays to get that memo too so if someone can help me out with that, I’d mighty appreciate it). I can’t believe we are into the last three months of school. The year has flown by and we’re coming in on the home stretch. Between a project with 50 robots running around the school to the students writing their own fractured fairy tales, things...
I have to say after spending 12 Days in Grenada it was very hard to return to the real world. Thank you to each of you that reached out before and after the break, it was simply the greatest time ever. On the Monday I was back, the students were very excted and asked to see photos and videos from the wedding and Grenada. It was a lot of fun sharing that. I also have to say that the marriage advice each of them wrote for me was amazing - some serious gems in there. Mrs. Flanagan, who MC’d the wedding with her husband Wes, read some of them out and had every guest in stitches. The best part being I could...
Welcome to October. We’ll see if we ever decide to have fall or just move right into winter. That said, we’ve got football, playoff baseball and NHL hockey - full on trifecta of awesome. In the classroom, things are flying and we’re having an awesome time. Here’s an overview of what’s coming down the pipe.

TGIF! Even though the summer is over, football is back, Major League Baseball is heating up for playoffs (sadly without my Jays anywhere near joining the party) and I've kicked off another year of adventures in grade five. More importantly… We all survived the first week of school! I just wanted to give you all an update on some of the things we will be doing in the coming weeks. Going forward, you can expect to get one of these larger updates about once a month, usually at beginning of the month, so that we are all on the same page about what is going on. I apologize though in advance that this update...
April is exciting. Major League Baseball is back and (apparently) spring is supposed to start (not sure what is going on with that one though…) With Spring Break behind us we’re in the final push to the end of the year. We’ve got lots to do and it’s going to be one heck of a ride. Here’s a quick run down of what we have going on.
Wednesday, April 18th – Spirit Day (Crazy Hair Day)
Thursday, April 19th – Fun Lunch (Edo)
Thursday, April 19th – Visit from author Marty Chan
Friday, April 20th – PD Day (no school for all students)
What a ride. Hard to believe that not even a month ago we were on our winter break. What holiday? What sleeping in? What unbelievable powder at Big White and Silverstar? I was planning on sending this out yesterday but ended up too angry at Frolik for shooting the puck at our own goalie, leading to 3 goals in 53 seconds for a loss. I had to breathe and pace and not say angry things. Anyways, here is your February update, as well as a Term 1 update from Phys. Ed, French, and Music. Sorry it’s a long read this month…
Wednesday, February 7th – Winter Walk Day
